Tour Schedule - THE JOURNEYS TO NORTH KARNATAKA ( BY AIR)

Day 1 : BANGALORE-HUBLI-HOSPET

  • Am Transfer to Airport Depart Bangalore for Hubli by Air Deccan .Depart Bangalore at 0600 hours Arrive Hubli at 0705.
  • Transfer to hotel Malligi Tourist Home in Hospet ( 150 km/3 hours) Check in at hotel .
  • Thereafter proceed for half day sightseeing of Hampi.-Visit Virupaksha Temple (that rises majestically at the Western end of a 670 m long street that was once the famous Hampi bazaar).,6.7 metre tall monolith of Ugra Narasimha,Vithala Temple( with its 56 pillars in the main hall produce musical notes when struck.),Stone Chariot with stone wheels that actually revolve.Lotus Mahal,Elephant stables and Hazara Rama temple

Day2: HOSPET

  • Continue your visit of Hampi.

Day3: HOSPET-BADAMI

  • Am leave Hospet for Badami via Aihole and Pattadakal( 200 km/5 hours).Aihole( 17 km from Pattadakal and 46 km from Badami) has over a hundred temples scattered around the village.The oldest being the Lad Khan temple dating back to 5th Century.The Durga Temple ( the interior is filled with fascinating carvings- Chamundi Devi trampling the Buffalo demon, Narasimha the half man- half lion god,Ardhanari),Hutchimalli temple and Konthi Temple complex.
  • Pattadakal- ( 17 kms from aihole and 29 kms from Badami)The biggest temple here is dedicated to Virupaksha(scenes from Mahabharata and Ramayana are wonderfully carved in here.) Mallikarjuna and Papanatha temples, the Jain temples( from the Rashtrakuta period)
  • Arrive Badami and check in at hotel Badami Court

Day4: BADAMI

  • Sightseeing of Badami.The capital of the Early Chalukyas (also know as Vatapi) is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine between two rocky mountains. Rock cut cave temples, gateways,forts inscriptions,sculptures that seem to come alive under your eyes… Badami has to be seen to be believed.
  • There are 4 caves here. The first 3 belong to the vedic faith ( first cave dedicated to Shiva one can see the 18 armed Nataraja striking 81 dance pose; the third cave -the largest and most ornamental dedicated to Vishnu.Here one can see the splendid carvings) and the fourth Cave is the only Jain temple in Badami.Other temples to be seen here are the Bootha Nath temples and the museum set up by the Archaeological survey of India.

Day5. BADAMI-HUBLI-MUMBAI/BANGALORE

  • Am Leave Badami for Hubli airport (130 km/3 hours).
  • Depart Hubli for Mumbai/Bangalore by Air Deccan at 1030/1730 hours.
